About The Doctor

Dr. Lothes received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. He received his medical degree from The Medical College of Ohio and completed his ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University Hospital. He is a board certified general ophthalmologist with a special interest in oculoplastics. Dr. Lothes is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and began practicing in central Ohio in 1990.

Dr. Lothes was born in Zanesville, Ohio. Growing up he enjoyed playing high school and college football. At an early age, he began working at his father’s optical factory and became interested in the human eye and how it functions. By third grade, he knew he wanted to be a physician and ophthalmology was the path he would follow. Dr. Lothes resides in southern Delaware County with his wife Julie and four children; Kristen, Natalie, Gretchen and Mitchell. His hobbies include tennis and travel.
